Why does anyone cut his or her hair? To make it look healthier? To avoid split ends? To simply change up a look? Regardless of the reason, hair can be a touchy subject. Sometimes, cuts aren't always what they seem. In fact, sometimes they can be a disaster! So, as a means of comfort, you tell yourself, "Don't worry, it will grow back...eventually."
Why did you cut your hair in the first place? In general, 2015 seemed to be the year of the bob. This is probably attributed mostly to Taylor Swift's cut back in 2014, and the fact that many other celebs followed suit. We saw Kylie Jenner's iconic bob, Jessica Alba, and very recently, Adele. Personally, I think the style looks great on all of them! Even on most people. But sometimes, you get hit with the realization that you are not Taylor Swift, and you may not be able to pull off her cut and style. So you're lost and desperate for hair growth.
Hair, on average, grows about about a quarter of an inch per month. This means, that hair can take up to a year to grow about three inches, give or take, depending on your genes, metabolism, etc. But, what if you get a bad cut? And it absolutley needs to grow FAST! How do you speed up this process? There are a few things you can do that can give your hair a quick boost.
First of all, I would suggest not getting hair trims all the time. Remember, that hair grows from the roots, not the tips. So getting trims will only prevent your hair from growing. However, sometimes it can be helpful to get rid of split ends, which can make your hair LOOK longer, but will not make it GROW longer, necessarily. Next, I would suggest a multi-vitamin. I took Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails when I was desperate for hair growth. It made my hair a little softer and it looked healthier. Plus, they're gummies and taste great!
In my experience, shampoo is everything. The products I use to wash my hair tend to set the tone for my hair. I use Mane 'n Tail shampoo. THIS IS WONDERFUL. I cannot recommend this enough. Yes, it is for horses. But horse hair is beautiful! So, it may seem weird at first, but it is for humans as well, and my hair is so much better because of it.
I love that it doesn't have any harsh scent. It smells great because it doesn't smell like much! Plus, it comes in a super large bottle, so you can get a lot of use out of one bottle. There is also the conditioner that works well, too. Personally, conditioner can make my hair a little greasy, so I only use it on the ends. This is shampoo makes my hair feel fuller and healthier. It allows my natural textures to come out, whille also taming frizz. And did I mention, I swear my hair has grown faster. Although, this is probably due to the fact that it tames frizz and makes my hair look and feel better. If you are still struggling to grow your hair out, there is still one more thing you can do, even though it may seem odd. HAIR MASKS. You can buy hair masks from just about any drug store, or order online. The theory behind these is that you put it on your hair and leave it on for so long. It nourishes your hair and gives it all of the things it needs to grow, like an abundance of protein. Then, when you take it out, your hair has a better chance of growing faster. Personally, I have tried diy hair masks.

I used one with egg, olive oil, and honey. I then flipped my hair over my head for five minutes while I massaged the product in my hair. This is called the Inversion Method. I then jumped in the shower and washed my hair 2-3 times to get the product out. Afterwards, my hair felt smoothe and soft. I have yet to see any dramatic hair growth, but it may have donw a little something.
Hair growth can be tricky. There are things you can do to speed it up, but overall, it is up to your body. If worse comes to worst, there are always extensions. Hair grows. Maybe fast, maybe slow, but hair grows. Check out these easy hairstyles, when you're in that in-between stage of your hair growth, and learn to love it!
